He was predeceased by: his parents, Webb Thompson and Almetter Thompson (Munson); his son Kenneth Thompson, Jr.; and his brother Charles Thompson. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Richard Pietsek, Jr. (Tammy Been) and Shelley Metje (Brent); his grandchildren, Cody Ziegler (Kylei Camden), Corey Ziegler, Garrett Metje (Brandy) and Miranda Brown (Nathan); his great grandchildren, Westen Ziegler, Colton, Beau and Paisley Metje; his sister Gloria Thompson; his siblings-in-law, Linda, Steve Thoma, Cathy, Rex Finley, Carol Klein, Joe and Robin Stranimeier; and his mother-in-law Margie Stranimeier. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews. and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Weber & Rodney Funeral Home (304 N Main St, Edwardsville, IL 62025). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:45 AM at the same location.
