She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Miller and Norma Miller (Kassing); her sister Janice Mullen (Al); her stepmother Dorothy Millerand; her children, Roy and Barbara; her father-in-law Roy Schmidt; and her brothers-in-law, Tom Ohren and Richard Schmidt.
She is survived by: her husband Rodger Schmidt; her children, Randall Schmidt (Brooke (Meyers)) and Rachael Zurliene (Mark); her grandchildren, Allison, Cooper Zurliene, Ophelia and Oliver Miller; her brother Bill Miller; her niece Jennifer Miller of South Dakota; her cousin Judy Schaefer (Fred); her stepsiblings, Sharon Goltz (James) and Donnie Miller; and her siblings-in-law, Sandy Ohren, Rosemary Dorsey (Bruce) and Ron Schmidt (Mary Jo). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended members of the Schmidt family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any organization or program dedicated to the care, education, and inclusion of children of all abilities, a cause that reflected Ruth's lifelong passion and would have been her fondest wish.
