In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Shannon leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Shannon may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She is survived by: her parents, Jean O'Brien and Jerry O'Brien; her brothers, Mark and Kevin; her nieces and nephews, Quinn and Willow; and her grandmother Katherine O'Brien (Kay).
In lieu of flowers, we would request that a donation be made in her name to one of the following: 1) Shannon was a very strong advocate for social justice, and had a special place in her heart for immigrants and refugees. Therefore, we would request donations to the International Institute of St. Louis; International Institute of St. Louis – Immigrant Services & Community Engagement Hub since 1919. 2) As noted above, Shannon loved animals, and we would request donations to the APA; Pet Adoption, Wellness & Education - APA Adoption Center - St. Louis, MO, where she was planning to adopt a new pet within days of her death.
