It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia J. Smyth of Edwardsville, Illinois, born in Sparta, Illinois, who passed away on January 7, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy E. Pierce and Rose M. Pierce (Morrow); her husband Willard H. Smyth; her grandsons, Cole Smyth and Willard Smyth; and her siblings, Ruby, Bud, Jim, Vern, John, Margie, Betty, Ronnie and Mary.
She is survived by: her sons, Roy (Carol Smyth), Joe (Karen Smyth) and Gary (Joan Smyth); her grandchildren, Mallory, Patrick Quirke of Chicago, Danielle, Eric Reigelsberger of Delray Beach, Zachary and Brandon; and her siblings, Sam Pierce, Larry Pierce, Dave Pierce and Beatrice Hennrich. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other close family members and friends.
