With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William J. Mateyka of Edwardsville, Illinois, who passed away on December 5, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Mateyka and Emily Mateyka (Nekola); his wife Karen Mateyka (Campe); his daughter Jeanne L. Mateyka; and his brother Michael "Mick" Mateyka.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah L. "Sally" Mateyka of Edwardsville and Daniel Mateyka (Denise) of Edwardsville; his granddaughter Taylor Danielle Mateyka; and his sisters, Mary O'Laughlin of Edwardsville and Katherine "Kay" Fisher.
The family requests Memorials be made to the Colonel Benjamin Stephenson House, Metro East Humane Society, or to the Masses.
