It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alice E. Kaufmann of Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cletus Rauch and Laura Rauch (Kocher); her husband Leonard J. Kaufmann; her siblings, Floyd Rauch and Marcella Ochs; and her brothers-in-law, Delmar Kocher, Larry Kerner and Donald Kocher.
She is survived by: her sons, Leon (Stacey) of Murphysboro, Thomas of Effingham and Daniel (Phyllis) of Flora; her grandchildren, Karly, Shelby, Cody Kaufmann, Andrew Pearce (Morgan) and Jarin Pearce; her sisters, Theresa Ochs (Gerald) of Olney, Gertrude Kocher of Olney, Delores Kerner of Olney and Mary Kocher of Olney; and her siblings-in-law, Kenneth Ochs and Shirley Rauch.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (405 S Henrietta St, Effingham, IL 62401). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at the St. Anthony Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
