He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Bierman and Mildred Bierman; and his brother George. He is survived by: his siblings, Jane, Clete, Mary, Mike, Geralyn, Barb, Bernice, Steve and Jeanette; his wife Wilma Bierman; his sons, Christopher (Danielle), Philip (Angie), Adam (Jessica) and Nicholas (Megan); and his grandchildren, Laila, Levi, Natasha, Noah, Richard and Henry Bierman. He is also survived by eleven siblings.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A vigil service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (16987 N 200th St, Teutopolis, IL 62467).
Memorials may be made to Ballard Nature Center.
