Though Barbara Ann may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Barbara Ann touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her father Ray W. Burk; and her brothers, Justin T. Burk and Joe Dale Burk. She is survived by: her mother Anna M. Burk (Clouse) of Effingham; her children, Elizabeth Jessee (Daniel) of Powhatan, VA and James of Effingham; and her siblings, Johnny (Margaret) of Dalton, GA and Nancy Reed (Jim) of Springville, UT. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home (1212 W Evergreen Ave, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
