He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward and Clara Mae Russell (Lenon); his siblings, Willian Russell, Gladys, Lou Emma, Elizabeth and Carolyn; and his stepchildren, Terry Russell and Linda Wright.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Russell of Effingham; his sons, Charles Russell (Genevieve) and Rex Russell (Suntah); his stepchildren, Kimberly Carter of Effingham, Cindy Pike (Todd) of Effingham and Randy Ebeling (Danee) of Newton; his sister Nancy Ebersol; his grandchildren, Ryan Russell, Lillian Russell, Abigail Russell, Zachary Carter (Tiffany), Jacob Carter (Becky), Brooke Ebeling (Nick), Rachael Glenn, Blake Ebeling (Ashley), James Wright, Jeff Wright and Lorinda Wright; and his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Parker, Mallory, Colten, Sophie and Gracelyn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
