He was predeceased by : his parents, Dean Light and Mildred Light (Nuxoll); and his sister-in-law Brenda Light. He is survived by : his siblings, Richard Light of Ely, Minnesota, Michael Light of Toledo, Illinois, Anita Niccum (Earl) of Toledo, Illinois, Jane Short (Bill) of Litchfield, Illinois, Jerome Light (Vicki) of Toledo, Illinois, Deanna Stewart (Garry) of Toledo, Illinois, Tori McElravy of Toledo, Illinois, Tony Light of Toledo, Illinois, Vincent Light (Deborah) of Greenup, Illinois, Chris Light of Toledo, Illinois and John Light of Toledo, Illinois. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Barkley Funeral Chapel (114 Courthouse Sq, Toledo, IL 62468). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Christ the King Catholic Church (110 E Lincoln Dr, Greenup, IL 62428).
