Donald J. Johnson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald J. Johnson of Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on October 31, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Johnson and Sallie L. Johnson (Leachman). He is survived by: his wife Anna Johnson; his children, Maddie Johnson and Patrick Johnson (Courtney); his grandchildren, Derek and Cecelia; his siblings, James Johnson (Cathy), Judy Stuckey (Don) and Dennis Johnson (Debra); and his caregivers, Sherri Depoister, Roy Clark and Carol Dilley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Centenary United Methodist Church (203 E Grove Ave, Effingham, IL 62401).
Memorials may be given to the local Parkinson's Disease support programs (can be in c/o Anna Johnson if desired).
