She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Culver and Edna Culver (Webb); her son Frederick "Rick" James (Angela) of Effingham; her granddaughter Shannon James; her sister-in-law Janet Culver; and her nephew Andrew Culver.

She is survived by: her children, Robert James (Brenda) of Watson, Janie Phillips of Effingham and Jeanie Schuette (Timothy) of Highland; her siblings, Charles Culver of Strasburg and Charlene Culver of Strasburg; her grandson Derik Daugherty of Kansas City, Missouri; her pet Belle; and her niece Ann Doedtman (David) of Effingham. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren.
