With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Florence Ruth Holt of Effingham, Illinois, born in Orange Park, Florida, who passed away on December 9, 2022 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Richardson Howard Sr. and Alice May Howard (Baker); her husband Houston L. Holt; her grandson Justin Chesnut; and her great grandchild Hallie McIntyre.

She is survived by: her children, Rhydonia Anderson (Virgil) of Forrest City, Arkansas, Charlotte McIntyre (Monty) of Ravenswood, Robert Holt (Beth) of Georgetown, Sharon Chesnut (Mark) of Effingham, Illinois, Daniel Holt (Barbara) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Rhyta Hooks of St. Elmo, Illinois.; her grandchildren, Zachary McIntyre (Danni), Houston McIntyre (Whitney), Anika Sloan (Rob), Heather Campagna (Frank), Heath Holt (Ellen), Tonya Kennedy (Mark), Tiffany Rickey (Rob), Amy Sublett (Josh), Jared Chesnut (Shealyn), Jordan Chesnut (Raelynne), Jennifer DeMario (Greg), Laura Thomas (Nathan), Shannon Hood (Chris), Christopher Hooks, Timothy Hooks (Kendra), Benjamin Hooks (Cherode), Michelle Hooks, Nathaniel Hooks, Isaiah Hooks and Hannah Hooks; and her caregiver Peggy Myers. She is also survived by thirty great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild.
