With sadness, we share the passing of James A. Dietrich of Effingham, Illinois. James, born on February 11, 1938, passed away on October 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Dietrich and Melba Dietrich. He is survived by: his wife Frances Dietrich of Effingham; his daughters, Penny Dietrich of Florissant, MO and Mimi Polczynski (Wayne) of DuBois, IL; his grandchildren, Cara Mannczynski (Trebor) of Carbondale, IL, Scott Polczynski (Alexis) of San Antonio, TX and Sam Polczynski of Los Angeles; his great grandchildren, Leo, Drew and Caz; and his brother-in-law James Schutte.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to Elks National Foundation or Quail Forever.
