He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. Poynter and Agatha Poynter (Siemer); and his wife Martha. He is survived by: his brother Gary Poynter (Barb Ealy); and his sibling's children, Mike Poynter (Sharon), Mindy Nosbisch (Mike) and Jenny Moore (Scott).
