Larry Ray Cowsert Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Ray Cowsert of Effingham, Illinois, born in Rosiclare, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 14, 2025 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Larry may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Larry touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Harold Cowsert (Ruby), Fran Hickrod (Jim) and Elva Wilson (Earl). He is survived by: his parents, Frank Cowsert and Opal Cowsert; and his siblings, Frank Cowsert (Olga) of Powder Springs, GA and Mary Louise Cook of Ridgway. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Salvation Army.
