Mary Broom Obituary

We announce the death of Mary Broom of Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 89. Mary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Pike and Emma Pike (Hoelscher); her brothers, Ralph Pike (Anna Mae) and Harold Pike (Pat); and her great grandchild Warryn Jax Miller.

She is survived by: her daughters, Jamie Miller (Jim) of Teutopolis, Sue Hansen (Arild) of Norway and Jean Lockhart (Kelly) of Effingham; her grandchildren, Ethan Miller (Madysen), Gabrielle Miller, Emma Marie Walaker (Havard), Karina Hansen, Aidan Lockhart and Quinten Lockhart; and her great grandchildren, Ava and Eleah Walaker.

Memorial donations may be given to Sacred Heart School or to the Star Legacy Foundation.
