It is with sadness that the passing of Michael J. Meyer of Effingham, Illinois is shared. Michael, born on June 13, 1947, passed away on September 9, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Meyer and Peggy Jean Meyer; his wife Kathy; his stepdaughter Tanya Tyska (Dean); his grandsons, Dylan and Sam Tyska; his brothers, Ron (Mary Beth) and Dirk (Jeanne); and his nieces and nephews, Molly O'Neil (Daniel), Erin, Christine and Lisa Meyer. He was also cherished by his family, friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Centenary United Methodist Church (203 E Grove Ave, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Effingham American Legion Post 120.
