With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rodney Dean Shannon of Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on April 16, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Shannon and Abigail McCormick Shannon; and his wife Linda Diane Lee. He is survived by: his close friend Marilyn Haarmann; his children, Dr. Timothy Shannon (Janet) and Tammy Honegger (Dan) of Tampa, FL; and his siblings, Ansel Shannon (Pat) of Burlington, IA, Dyson Shannon (Leona) of East Galesburg, IL, Stanley Shannon (Linda) of Alexis, IL and Mary Alice Reeves of Alexis, IL.. He is also survived by four grandchildren, one great grandchild.
The family suggests memorials be given to St. Jude Cancer Center or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Effingham.
