He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling H. Walden and Doris J. Walden (Slightom); his children-in-law, Jamey Heuerman and Christina Walden (Kuhlman); and his pet Patches.
He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Rhodes of Effingham; his children, Melissa Heuerman (Matthew Hardesty) of Effingham and Sterling C. Walden of Mason; his grandchildren, Mazey Heuerman, Kailee Hardesty and Shevelle Walden; and his siblings, Randy Walden (Kathy) of Franklin, VA and Debbie Meyers (Bill) of Chatham.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Watson Methodist Church (13900 IL-37, Watson, IL 62473). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be given to the Boy Scouts of America or to Ballard Nature Center.
