He is survived by: his children, Brenda Eden of The Villages, FL, Richard Eden of Springfield, IL and Julie Wortman (Dan) of Effingham; his son-in-law John Sheary of Forsyth, IL; his grandchildren, Leslie Sheary, Jacob Sheary (Samantha), Kiersten Baer (Brock), Amber, Ava Eden, Liz (Ryan Feldhausen), Sarah (Austin Webb), Rachel and Zach Wortman; his great grandchildren, Laela, Nyomi, Nya, Scottie and McKenna; his siblings, Ruth Stice, Jim Eden and Dan Eden (Louise); his sister-in-law Betty Jean Malcom; his siblings' child Havanese; and his pet Spencer. He is also survived by his kids' and grandkids.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (101 E Virginia Ave, Effingham, IL 62401).
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Anthony Schools.
