It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas John Joseph Laub of Effingham, Illinois, born in Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on March 16, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Gertrude Laub (Johnson); his wife Mary Galeski; and his aunt Sadie Duffy (Lawrence). He is survived by: his children, Lisa Anderson (Gary) of Hamilton, OH, Deb Bohannon (Scott) of Effingham and Kevin Laub of Effingham; his grandchildren, Austin Anderson, Evan Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Jenea' Kane (Michael) and Trenton Laub; his stepgrandson Vance Bohannon (Debra); his great grandchildren, Madden Kane and Greyson Kane; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ryder Bohannon and Lincoln Bohannon; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Galeski (Susana) and Judy Vogt. He is also survived by one niece and several nephews.
In honor of Thomas' beloved pets, the family asks that in lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials be made to the Effingham County Humane Society.
