He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Springer and Helen Springer (Thoele); his mother-in-law Sharon Gelsinger Boone; his wife Sharon Springer; his sisters, Sally Huffman and Mary Ann Parker (Robert "Bob"); and his great grandchild Matthew Jacob Dossey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sally Jo Donsbach (David "Dave") of Effingham and Peggy Jansen (Gerald W. "Jerry") of Effingham; his grandchildren, Monica (Henkelman), Dossey (Justin), Micki (Henkelman), Esker (Eric), Mandy (Henkelman), Einhorn (Brent), Macie (Henkelman), Kirgan (James "Jimmy"), Joseph "Joey" Springer (Kali Rafferty) and Jordan L. Springer; his siblings, Donald Springer (late Jean Cain) of Texas, Albert Springer of Effingham and Thomas "Tom" Springer (Eileen Thies) of Effingham; his stepson Dan Boone (Jane) of Edwardsville; and his stepgranddaughter Emma Boone.
