With sadness, we share the passing of Curtis Childers of El Paso, Illinois. Curtis, born on March 2, 1941, passed away on September 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Childers and Evaline Phelps Childers; his wife Barbara "Jeane" Apps; his daughter Kelly Yordy; his brother Charles Lee Childers; and his sons-in-law, Lonnie Willis and Colin King.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Willis of Hudson, IL, Ka Lin Aucutt (Kenneth) of El Paso, IL, Kris Alexich (Mark) of North Syracuse, NY, Karla Kilpatrick (Troy) of Del Rio, TN and Kevin Childers (Diane) of Normal, IL; his siblings, John Childers (Linda) of El Paso, IL and Ruth Pleines (Dave) of Arrowsmith, IL; and his son-in-law Mark Yordy of Bloomington, IL.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial (1115 E Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hudson Township Fire Department.
