With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Matthys of Elburn, Illinois, born in Geneva, Illinois, who passed away on September 10, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Peter Matthys and Martha Matthys; his siblings, James Matthys (Carol) and Francis Matthys (Darlene); and his nephew Jimmy Matthys.

He is survived by : his friends, Ron Troast, Ron Duy and Tom Berry; his grandson Dick; his wife Donna Matthys; his sons, Richard Matthys and Eric Matthys (Heather); his grandchildren, Jared, Nolan, Megan Matthys, Madison and Payton Pitts; his great grandchild Finley Cahill-Matthys; his nieces, Judy Matthys-Fuller, Laura Mahon, Sandra Matthys and Angie Ferguson; and his nephew Curt Matthys.
