He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Edo and Fairweather Melton; his wife Mary Ann Cagle Melton (Mitzi); his daughter Beth Ellen Cagle White; his sister-in-law Sue Cagle Suppan; and his siblings, Annabelle Griswold, Mary Gholson, Charles Melton, Harrell Melton and Henry Melton, Jr. (Dutch).

He is survived by: his son Bankers; his stepchildren, Katie and Nick Gullic of Eldorado; his son Jeff; his daughter-in-law Lauren; his granddaughters, Astrid, Madison, Ingrid of East Melbourne and Victoria; his sister-in-law Nancy Cagle Ledbetter of Harrisburg; and his nieces and nephews, Mike Suppan of Lisle, Pat Suppan of Makanda, Nadine Williams of Herod, Angela Stafford of Thompson, Alex White, Kelley White Harris, Ashley Ledbetter McCaul and Brad Ledbetter of Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be grateful for memorial contributions to the American Cancer.
