He was predeceased by : his son Larry Joe Unthank; his parents, John Unthank and Bessie Unthank (Reeder); his in-laws, Lawrence and Eula Mae Waggener; his siblings, Anna Lee Owen (Bill), Barbara Jean Mayberry (Bob), Edith Marie Rister (Tim), Mary Ellen Brown (Richard) and John Unthank, Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Gene Cook and Shirley Unthank.

He is survived by : his daughter Tammy Renee Haury (Unthank); his wife Martha Helen Unthank (Womack); his son Bradley Unthank (Michelle); his daughter-in-law Sherry Unthank; his grandchildren, Carey Unthank (Katie), Abby Haury, Dakota Street, Dillon Street (Hannah), Braden Unthank and Brylie Unthank; his great grandchildren, Larry, Peyton, Bryson, Annilyn Unthank, Kaydence Street and Tucker Street; and his siblings, Thelma Mae Cook and Donald Ray Unthank.

Memorials in his memory may be made to College Heights Baptist Church or American Heart association and envelopes will be available.
