She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wilson Rouse and Gertrude McGill Rouse; and her husband Robert Yirka. She is survived by: her children, Ja'fr Yirka (Wati) of Frederick, MD, Kathy Wire (Van) of Mitchell, SD, Chuck Yirka (Candyce) of Gloucester, VA, Bob Yirka (Toni) of Bloomfield, IN, Trish Kolaszewski (Leo) of Oshkosh, WI and Barb Yirka of Rapid City, SD. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (4500 Jackson Blvd, Rapid City, SD 57702). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
Barbara requests memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. Consider a donation, as requested by the family.
