We are sad to announce that, on April 17, 2021, at the age of 54, Christopher Edward Mau of Elgin, Illinois, born in Evanston, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Kenney-Mau. He is survived by: his parents, R. Charles Mau (Donna) and Maren J. Olson; his mother-in-law Marlene Kenney; his sister Jennifer Mau-Beljaeff; his brother-in-law Brian Kenney (Michelle); his aunt Mary Ann Greuel; his uncle Donald H. Mau; his cousins, Jamie Mau and Don Mau; and his nieces and nephews, Stella Laurent (Charles), Max Beljaeff, Greta Mau, Cole Kenney, Megan Kenney and Angus.

Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time. Face masks are required to enter the facility.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Christopher's name to The American Melanoma Foundation or the Fur Keeps Animal Rescue.

As a reporter, I appreciated Chris's candor when we talked about Elgin related matters. As one of my best buddies is a big Doctor Who fan, I also appreciated the wealth of knowledge both Chris and Kathleen shared about their Whovian adventures. I could impress my pal.
