He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Martinez and Paula Martinez (Gonzalez); his son Gerardo M. Martinez; and his siblings, Noe Martinez, Regina Gonzalez and Olga Olivo.
He is survived by: his wife Estela Martinez (Cavazos); his children, Mario X. Martinez and Laura M. Martinez; and his sisters, Amalia Gumesindo and Emma McHazlett. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
