She was predeceased by: her parents, Alrick G. Ekman and Roberta L. Ekman (Bates); and her sister June Ekman. She is survived by: her children, Linda Neely (Timothy) of Woodstock, Richard Douglas of Elgin, Cynthia Medina (Eduardo) of Hampshire and Donna Peters (Charles) of Elgin; her grandchildren, Samantha Granger (Larell) of Elgin, Charles Peters Jr. (Felicia) of Springfield and Sabrina Ollie (Will) of Springfield; and her great grandchildren, Samara of Elgin, Saniya of Elgin, Lazrell of Elgin, Larius of Elgin, Granger of Elgin, Raphael of Springfield, Ollie of Springfield and Ariya Peters of Springfield.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cooper-Quiram Chapel (202 E Main St, Genoa, IL 60135). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cooper Quiram Chapel (202 E Main St, Genoa, IL 60135). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at the Genoa Township Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the family for a fund to be established.
