With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Geraldine Ruth Genz (Elgin, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 19, 2025 at the age of 83. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Geraldine Ruth Genz to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Hedblade and Gladys Hedblade; her siblings, Shirley and Don; and her siblings' children, Roxanne, Scott and Rex.
She is survived by: her husband Richard "Dick" Genz; her sons, Rick Genz (Melissa) and Ryan Genz (Jane); her grandchildren, Justin, Jared (Stephanie), Madelyn, Andrew and Joshua; her great grandchild Emersyn; and her nephew Trist Anderson (Mary).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Evangelical Covenant Church (1564 Larkin Ave, Elgin, IL 60123). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
