With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gordon L. Windau of Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on June 30, 2022 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leon Windau and Helen Windau (Hoagland); his wife Dorothy; his children, Denise Oltmann (Merle), Gary (Cheryl), Deanna Windau Hoebbel and Dawn; his grandchildren, Brittney Currer (Scott), Matthew Oltmann (Cara), Tyler and Morgan; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey Currer and Rayne Oltmann.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Journey Care Hospice Care Center or American Cancer Society.

“I have known Gordy for most of my life as he was a neighbor when we were both kids and then he married a friend and classmate of mine later in life when we were both in nursing school together at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.. Gordy was a good guy and will be greatly missed by his wife and family. I pray that God will grant them peace during this difficult time of grief. God bless them all and grant them comfort in knowing that Gordy is no longer suffering. Mary McGavock/Schuetz”
