He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Schultz and Louise Schultz; his brother Norman Schultz; his sister-in-law Jean Schultz; his sister Lavon Wells; and his children, Brenda Gilmore and Brian Riedl.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. Youngs; his children, Gordon Schultz, Jr., Deanne Weigel (Rich), Warren Riedl (Lisa), Steven Schultz (Heidi) and Paul Schultz (Tricia); his grandchildren, Brieann (Sergey), Ashley (Dennis), Amy (Ryan), Robert (Jenna), Kaley (Michael), Sarah (Brandon), Stephany (David), Jessica, Jon (Marissa), Danielle (Blake), Jake and Jack; and his great grandchildren, Hailey, Brooke, Nolan, Lucas, Calvin, Isabella, Owen, Leo, Alexander, Margot, Fiona, Maren, Rowen, Bria, Arwen, Miles, Waylon and Charlotte. He is also survived by his family, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (310 S State St, Elgin, IL 60123).
