With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John F. Early of Elgin, Illinois, born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 17, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Colonel John A. and Helen T. Early (Moore); his parents-in-law, Helen and Mitchell Slonina; and his sister Patricia Lynch.

He is survived by : his wife Mary (Slonina); his children, John A. Early, Meghan E. Early and Catie H. Early (Kai Bandziukas); his grandchildren, A. J. Early, Archer Early, Ella Thompson, Ozzie Thompson and Josephine Early; his children-in-law, Nicolas Thompson and Rebecca Early; and his siblings, Tony (Georgine) and Kathy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM. The military honors was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (310 S State St, Elgin, IL 60123). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church (215 Thomas More Dr, Elgin, IL 60123).
