He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Sekowski and Celia Sekowski; and his father-in-law John Domokos. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A.; his children, John A., Jr. (Heidi), Christine and Susan Holland (Glen); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Randall, John, Analise, Maxwell and Sophie; his mother-in-law Sophie; his sisters, Janine Gaspari (Leonard) and Dr. Cynthia Sekowski; and his pets, Ginger and Roxie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
