She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Applehoff and Ruth Applehoff (Jeschke); her husband William "Bill" Powers; and her brother Larry Applehoff. She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Heichel (Glenn), Krtistin Hendry (Scot) and Kurtis Powers (Jennie); her grandchildren, Nicole (Chris), Troy (Cassie), Danielle, Tyler (Kelsey), Jacob (Devin), Ryan (Erin) and Teagan (Jared); and her sister-in-law Anne Applehoff. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (310 S State St, Elgin, IL 60123). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Highland Oaks of Elgin.
