He was predeceased by: his parents, James Newell and Wilma Newell (Wedell); his wife Shirley; and his siblings, Jean Soderstrom and James Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Kirk J. Newell, Keith J. Newell and Kendra J. Pasek; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Emily, Abby, Chase, Josh, Roger and Jake; his great grandchildren, Ryan, Pyper, Taryn, Layla, Sloane, Shay, Dexter, Rand, Tim and Oliver; and his great great grandchild Marcie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM. A burial will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at the Lakewood Memorial Park (30W730 US-20, Elgin, IL 60120).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Kirk's name to the Veterans Association of choice.
