He was predeceased by: his wife Magarita; and his siblings, Lucy Ruiz, Maggie Onate, Conception Viramontes, Ambrosia Leudanski, Carmen Valencia, Mica Parra, George Ruiz and Paula Marcial.
He is survived by: his children, Paulette Darbor, Ralph "Butch" Ruiz (Lori) and Veronica Betz (Scott); his grandchildren, Jenna Bender (Christopher), Dominic Alanis (Diana), Sarah Darbor, David and Levi Betz; his great grandchildren, Rylan, Emmett Bender and Elliott Fernandez-Alanis; and his siblings, Sonny, David Ruiz and Antone "Peachy" Boro.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Laird Funeral Home (310 S State St, Elgin, IL 60123). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Laurence Catholic Church.
