She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Kersten and Gloria Kersten; and her husband Joseph Koziol. She is survived by: her children, Lee Kersten (Catlin) and Tom Koziol (Jillian); her grandchildren, Tyler (Samantha), Dylan (Jen), Oliver, Eleanor and Asher; and her great grandchildren, Charlotte and Ragin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Laird Funeral Home (310 S State St, Elgin, IL 60123). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following charities: Feed the Children, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Doctors Without Borders.
