We are sad to announce that, on October 5, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Perfecto Vasquez (Elgin, Illinois). He was predeceased by: his parents, Perfecto M. Vasquez, Sr. and Paz Lim-Aco; and his sisters, Dr. Amelia V. Castelltort, Rebecca Vasquez, Angela Vasquez and Rosalie Vasquez.

He is survived by: his siblings, Miguelita V. Amigleo, Vicente Vasquez and Teresita Lim-Aco; his sons, Vincent Vasquez (Janella) and Michael Vasquez (Mary Anne); and his grandchildren, Fulton, Bennett, Will and Xander Vasquez. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Due to local, state and national concerns over the spread of the coronavirus, Father Vasquez's funeral Mass will not be open to the public but will be livestreamed, along with the wake service.

“In loving memory of Perfecto Vasquez, You will be sorely missed. Every Meeting with Father Perfecto for me was a great learning experience in spite of the fact that he was 4 years younger than me. When he visited St. Catherine’s to fill in for 7:30 Mass on Sundays or in Chapel at 8:00 during the week, I would sometimes shutter that his Homily would result in Him walking up to Me, as he would often walk around in the Church and Pick a particular parishioner and Question then on their Faith.”
