He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Harold and Margaret Newby; his sister Janice; his brother-in-law Don Sunderlage; and his nephew Steven Sunderlage.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Ellen Newby; his children, Robert L. Newby (Ada), Cynthia Dickinson (Reynolds), Candace Buie (Jimmy), Ronald Newby, Derek Swanson (Jodi) and Kurt Swanson (Aimee); his grandchildren, Jennifer Marshall (Jeremy), Robert Newby (Amy), Michael Newby, Ashley Reed (Matthew), Julia Buie, Jericca Newby, Devyn Sorrell, Quincy Swanson, Luke Swanson, Abigail Swanson and Kaitlyn Swanson; and his brother-in-law James S. Hale (Lois). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
