She was predeceased by : her parents, Lloyd Burton and Sophronia Burton (Kirk); and her siblings, Bill Burton and Jean Shelton. She is survived by : her husband Larry F. Kagel; and her sisters, Sally Atchison and Joan Beasley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bluff City Cemetery (945 Bluff City Blvd, Elgin, IL 60120). A reception was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (101 N Spring St, Elgin, IL 60120).
