He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Downing (Mayer) and William F. Downing; his parents-in-law, Daniel and Vernetta; and his brother-in-law Warren.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon (Frusolone); his children, Amanda Salas (Phil), Emily Hansen (Jesse), Dan (Brittany), Tim, Zach (Esther) and Caleb (Galia); his grandchildren, Kali Ziman (Christian), Jazmyn Hansen and Calixtro Salas; and his siblings, Tom Downing (Kathy), Bob Downing (Joyce), Diane Schmitt (Victor) and Patti Hamilton (Warren). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
