The family announces the passing of Xavier Carrera of Elgin, Illinois on October 22, 2026. Xavier, born on December 16, 1939, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Leonidas and Leonor; and his significant other Cecilia. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Brathwaite (Javier), Leo Carrera, Sylvia Young (Kevin) and Katrina Campbell (Chris); his grandchildren, Shamir, Nayely, Azia, Austin, Zion, Gabriel, Juliet and Izadora; and his great grandchildren, Charles and Buchanan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Morizzo Funeral Home (2550 Hassell Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169). A prayer will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:45 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Church of the Holy Spirit (1451 Bode Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194).
