It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Murphy of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Murphy and Kathryn Murphy; and his siblings, Eleanor Thomas (Bill), Bernice Gunst (Albert), Carole Hubert (Edward), Howard Jr. Murphy (Evelyn), John Murphy (Eilleen) and Robert Murphy (Margie).
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his daughter Jennifer Murphy Bertani; his grandchildren, Sophia and Alexander; and his brothers-in-law, James Owens (Sherrie) and Paul Owens (Susan). He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
