He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hanus and Catherine Ruth Hanus; his grandparents, Joseph E. Hanus and Marie Kvech; and his wife Carolyn.
He is survived by: his siblings, Charlene Bang, Robert Hanus and Paul Hanus; his grandchildren, Kristan Laubach, William Laubach, Sarah Laubach and Brian Hanus (Alyssa); and his great grandchild Oliver Hanus. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Grove Memorial Chapel (1199 S Arlington Heights Rd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery (1185 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067).
