She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Haesemeyer and Louise Licht Haesemeyer; her sister Margaret Haesemeyer Novosad (Andrew); and her niece Deborah Novosad Bartuska (John). She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Steven Novosad (Susan) and Russell Novosad (Gail); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Laura Bartuska (Chris), Carolyn Bartuska, Jack Bartuska, Sara Novosad Kojic (Filip), Andrew Novosad, Alyssa Novosad, Nicholas Novosad (Kaitlyn) and Kathryn Novosad; and also, William, Owen, Zachary Novosad, Abby Dervinis, Emily and Margaret.

On her 93rd birthday last year, due to Covid, a drive by birthday parade was arranged complete with a police escort.

In lieu of flowers, Doris has requested that donations be sent to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 123 E St Charles Rd, Elmhurst, IL 60126.

“Doris reached out to me late summer early fall to see if I could give her a haircut at her home. I had said of course I came over bringing her flowers cookies and I crossed off an hour of my time so we could sit and catch up in her backyard viewing her gardens. She wrote me a thank you note for the cookies,haircut,flowers and spending time with her she really appreciated it. Little did I know that was the last time I’d see her and boy was I glad I took extra time to visit. I will miss her so..DS”

“Dearest beloved family of Doris, I have recently heard of the passing of Doris. I was her hairdresser for the pass 20 years. Doris was my hero and role model! She traveled the world and had a social life I was jealous of! I never met her family but through Her stories I felt that I knew you. How she enjoyed cooking for you all and hosting family holidays were truly pure joy for her! The theater,golf and so many activities she enjoyed well into her 80’s+ just amazed me. Truly a beautiful person.”
