He was predeceased by: his son Louis A. Van Dyke; and his brothers, William, Peter and Andrew Van Dyke. He is survived by: his wife Jeannette Van Dyke; his children, James Van Dyke (Linda), Russell Van Dyke (Lois) and Howard Van Dyke (Nancy); and his sister Gertrude Behrens (late Marvin). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
