With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard H. Rentner of Elmhurst, Illinois, born in Oak Park, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy A.; his daughter Carrie; his sisters, Dorothy Rentner and Marilyn Hahn (late Wally); his siblings-in-law, Patsy Gibbons (late Frank) and Tom Brown (late Helen); and his aunt Julia.
He is survived by: his children, Laurie Burny (Tom), Nancy Hart (Dan), Rick (Diane), Donna and Tom (Nancy); his grandchildren, Alissa Wiedelman (Eric), Lauren Freissle (Peter), Alana Burny, Tim Hart (Haley), Danny, Tommy Hart, Rick, Matt, Kara Bromley (Steven), Tom, Madonna Rentner (Calvin Ringenbach) and Bryan Cygan; and his great grandchildren, Addyson, Quinn Wiedelman, Carrie, Danny Hart, Scarlett, Harrison Bromley and Noelle Cygan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM at the Gibbons Funeral Home (134 S York St, Elmhurst, IL 60126). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church (426 West Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126). A burial will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (1400 S Wolf Rd, Hillside, IL 60162).
